By the end of the sixth day of Creation, the first man and woman had been not only given each other, but had been blessed by God to be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth — the earth that they were given the responsibility and authority to rule over. On the seventh day, the Rest of God began. Let us look at that Rest and what it meant for God and for humankind. Genesis 1:26-28 (NET) “ Then God said, ‘Let us make humankind in our image, after our likeness, so they may rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move on the earth.’ God created humankind in His own image, in the image of God he created them, male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply! Fill the earth and subdue it!
